When to Book your Grand Teton Wedding Vendors? Since the year of 2020 when everything wedding wise around here went haywire. Brides are booking their event vendors further and further ahead of time. Because well, they have to! Most Vendors are over 50% booked for the coming summer before it even hits January of that year.
What Month am I getting married in?
First you will want to narrow down your date and see what month of the year that falls in. Months like September here in Grand Teton book up first. If you are looking to get married in the fall you will probably want to start securing your wedding vendors like a photographer, Florist and venue around December of the previous year. (By January my September was 100% filled). Now if your getting married in a less busy time of year which be March – May you may be a little safer if you choose to put off hiring your vendors til a little more last min.
Wedding Planning
A good rule of thumb if you are on top of things is to get your big 3 out of the way first. Thats going to be your Wedding Planner, Wedding Venue and the Reception Venue. These will need to be booked within 12 months before your wedding day. Crazy I know. Once you choose your planner your life is going to get much easier from then on out. They know ALL THE THINGS. I’ll drop a quick list of local planners down below in case your haven’t found yours yet.

Photographers
Photographers start booking weddings around a year in advance so if you have your heart set on someone you will want to nail them down first. This also gives you the opportunity to set up your engagement session with them as well which i think is important so your photos are cohesive in case you want to display them at your wedding and for your invites. 12 months is golden, 10 months is good, 8 months is pushing it if you’re getting married in peak wedding season, and 6 months is iffy but you can always inquire!
Caterers and Florists
The time to get quotes and sample menus from your florist and caterer is around 8-9 months in advance. Don’t put this off and be left with slim pickings. Florals are one of my favorite parts of doing photography and when they are bad they are real bad, so do your research!
