Best time of year for a wedding in Jackson Hole

This is a question I get asked all the time. What is the best time of year for a wedding in Jackson Hole, Wyoming? And well, the answer just depends. Every couple is different with different wedding day needs. That’s why I put together a list reasons each season has their pros and cons.

Starting with Spring April – May

Spring in Jackson hole and grand Teton is much less chaotic and busy compared to summer. It’s the off season for us but the snow is starting to melt off meaning things are becoming more accessible and starting to green up towards mid May! On the down side there is still a very high chance that it will snow and the mountains won’t be visible on your wedding day. So if mountain photos are what you came for, I suggest summer or early fall.

Summer June – August

Summer is my personal favorite. It also happens to be the most hectic time of year filled with people. It also books up the fastest so if you are planning a summer wedding in Grand Teton you will want to book your vendors around January of the previous year. Summer is green and wild flowers are out, the weather is perfect.

Fall September – October

Fall in the Tetons is stunning for weddings and everybody knows it. The month of September is always the first month to fill up on my books. It is golden and brings all the warmth to your photos. Still very busy in the town of Jackson Hole. It does get pretty cold in the mornings and evenings in October so you will want to prepare for that!

Winter November- March

Winter is definitely our longest season here. But with Jackson being a ski town thats not so bad. There are still a lot of activities to do like dog sledding, feeding the elk and of course skiing at Snow King, Teton Village or Grand Targhee. Winter is the least crowded time of year to get married here and great for elopements. The mountains are beautiful snow capped (when visible) there is a higher chance of cloud coverage or snowstorms making your mountain photos less likely.
