🌲 Makenna & Evan’s Moody Jackson Hole Elopement at Glacier View Turnout
When Makenna and Evan first reached out to me, they told me they were dreaming of a moody Jackson Hole elopement — something that felt raw, emotional, nostalgic, and a little cinematic. They wanted their photos to capture that “Noah Kahan” vibe — full of feeling, depth, and the kind of atmosphere that only the Tetons can give you.
And honestly, their day could not have been more perfect for that.
A Windy, Stormy Ceremony at Glacier View Turnout
We started their day at Glacier View Turnout, one of my favorite elopement spots in Jackson Hole. The sky was heavy with clouds, the wind was wild (as it always seems to be there), and Makenna’s hair was blowing like crazy — in the most beautiful way. The clouds rolled over the Tetons, creating that dramatic, moody lighting they had hoped for.
Makenna wore a fitted, boho lace dress that looked stunning against the dark, stormy backdrop. And Evan — in his deep green suit — stood out perfectly against the moody tones of the mountains. The way those colors came together was unreal. It felt like the whole scene was made just for them.
They said their vows surrounded by a small group of their closest friends and family. The wind carried their laughter, and the energy felt so genuine — emotional, yet full of joy.
Bridals at Windy Point
After their ceremony, we headed over to Windy Point (appropriately named, of course), and the skies just kept getting darker and moodier — exactly what they had envisioned. The mountains looked incredible with those deep tones, and we captured a mix of candid and cinematic shots that really told their story.
We took time for a few family and friends photos too, which felt so special in that setting. The wind, the laughter, the way the light shifted over the peaks — it all felt like pure magic.
Ending the Night at Cascade Canyon Turnout
We wrapped up the evening at Cascade Canyon Turnout, where the last bit of light gave us this soft, glowy haze behind the mountains. You could just tell how much fun these two have together — the teasing, the laughter, the easy comfort they have when they’re side by side.
It was one of those evenings where you can feel that this is exactly what an elopement should be — intentional, relaxed, and focused on the connection between two people who genuinely love being together.
Why I Loved This Elopement
Everything about Makenna and Evan’s day felt like them — imperfect in all the right ways, full of texture, emotion, and meaning. The stormy skies, the wind, the laughter — it all told their story exactly how it was meant to be told.
If you’re dreaming of a moody, nostalgic Jackson Hole elopement, this is your sign that cloudy skies and wild weather can actually make your photos even more magical.
